It does not matter where you were married.
If you have been a resident of the District of Columbia for at least six months prior to filing your divorce case or if your spouse has been a resident of DC for at least six months prior to filing, and you or your spouse consider DC to be your permanent residence, you may file for divorce in the DC court.
